...About the Programmes
How does each programme work?
Each programme is individually designed to help you achieve what you want. Each programme begins with a complete assessment to ensure we know the areas to focus on in your programme.
Your coaching sessions will cover whatever is required to get you results. We will discuss the best approach for you each week and ensure we review your programme as needed.
What do I wear to the assessments?
Please wear tight-fitting clothes for the assessment. Men are required to wear ‘running style shorts’ and women are to wear a ‘crop style top’ or sports bra and a ‘pair of shorts or short leggings.’ This is so we can fully assess your posture, spine, joint stability, abdominal muscles and lower limb joints.
What do I wear to the training sessions?
Please wear clean and comfortable workout clothes appropriate for the activity.
How do I pay for my coaching programme?
You can pay the full amount up front or in monthly installments. We accept cash, cheque or card.
...About our Approach
What can I expect when I work with you?
Consultation and Assessment
When we first agree to work together, we will send you some comprehensive questionnaires, designed to help me assess your past and present health, exercise and injury history, nutrition and lifestyle habits, stress levels, strengths and weaknesses, goals, what you want to achieve and how committed you are.
When you have made the commitment to your chosen programme, we will take you through a physical assessment that is multidisciplinary, coming from the fields of physical therapy, kinesiology, strength and conditioning and exercise physiology. The areas assessed are:
1 Posture and gait
2 Spinal curvatures
3 Joint range and motion
4 Muscle balance
5 Core and joint stability
6 Flexibility
7 Strength
8 Co-ordination
9 Functional movement patterns
Individual Attention and Programme Design
The programme will take into consideration time and equipment availability. You will receive an exercise manual including pictures of exercises and stretches with specific acute exercise variables (i.e. Reps, sets, tempo, intensity and rest periods).
Personal Instruction and Coaching
Individual instruction is provided, taking you through your exercise programme, instructing you on how to perform the exercises correctly. You will also have on going one to one coaching with us here at Excel. To ensure consistency, good form and motivation.
Motivation and Support
Continuous phone and e-mail support is provided throughout your time working with us. It is also very important to keep you motivated with targets during your programme.

What is Integrative Neuromuscular Therapy?
Integrative Neuromuscular Therapy is a thorough method of rehabilitation from acute and chronic pain syndromes which utilizes specific soft tissue manipulation techniques, flexibility stretching, joint mobilization, neuromuscular re-education, client education and home care to eliminate the causes of most neuromusculoskeletal pain patterns and associated dysfunctions.
This scientific approach to somatic (soma=body) pain relief, balances the central nervous system with the musculoskeletal system, enhancing the patient’s awareness and adequate proprioception.
INMT is the perfect accompaniment to other healthcare modalities as it helps clients experiencing structural dysfunction, faulty biomechanics, and the accompanying pain.
INMT is used to locate and release spasm and hyper contraction in the tissues, eliminate trigger points; restore postural alignment, correct bio-mechanics and flexibility to the tissues; rebuild strength of injured tissues and assist venous and lymphatic flow.
Integrative Neuromuscular Therapy examines eight physiological factors
of capital importance in the treatment of somatic pain and dysfunction.
1. Ischemia
2. Trigger Points
3. Nerve Entrapment/Compression
4. Postural Distortions
5. Faulty Biomechanics
6. Nutrition
7. Perpetuating Factors
8. Emotional Wellbeing
